perhaps it has more to do with not having received sufficient love from parents/guardians when they were young? hence there has been an incomplete development in their emotional wellbeing...honesty is a good point, perhaps learning how to receive love is the next step...
Hm, i would recommend Dr. Henry Cloud's book "Changes that heal". He is a good christian writer. He actually wrote 1) Being honest with yourself and God is the first step for healing. 2) Asking for help or getting help is the next step. 3) Joining community to give and receive love is the next.
yah...depends. But i have applied these steps and it has worked for me. We probably wont be able to get the right help, for instance, if we lied about our feelings, right? Or if we hide our state of need and despair. -kim
